Now and then I like to leave the safety net of writing First World War/Second World War articles and look at other important conflicts or periods of history.

 

One really interesting article that I wrote for a magazine - but was annoyingly never published - was on the Ghurkhas and the bravery and determination they displayed in the Borneo Confrontation of the early 60s. Why these brave people had to fight so hard to gain the right to settle in our country is beyond me. 

 

I find the Middle Ages a source of constant fascination and I hope, in the future, to write further on the medieval period. Writing the Richard the Lionheart article was a great pleasure and reminded me how fun history and research can be.
